Project Details
The University of Delaware Jack and Bores project consisted of (10) jack and bore crossings using 20″ and 30″ steel casing. The steel casing would contain either 20″ steel pipe for chilled water, 12″ steel pipe for steam or a 6″ steel pipe for condensation to upgrade the university’s heating and cooling systems of the buildings. Due to many existing utilities present on the campus the jack and bore crossings had to be carefully planned and coordinated with many of the stake holders involved. Materials delivery, including any trucking of equipment in and out of the on-campus work areas needed to be coordinated between Aaron Enterprises, the general contractor and their activities, the engineer, and the university.
Final Product
Furnished and installed 660LF of 36″ diameter steel casing. 293 LF of 30″ diameter steel casing, and 293 LF of 20″ steel casing by guided pilot and jack and bore method.
