Project Details
A roadway reconstruction project north of Philadelphia included two jacked pipe crossings under Interstate 95. The design called for implementation of a soil improvement program. Aaron Enterprises, Inc. injected chemical grout vertically around the perimeter of the jacking pits and horizontally along the path of the proposed crossings prior to installation of the RCP. An Akkerman Tunnel Boring Machine was used to jack the concrete pipe into place. After installation, the crew back grouted the pipes to assure no voids were left around the pipe perimeter.
