Enhancing Auger Boring
Guided pilot tube boring is typically deployed to enhance the accuracy of an auger bore. The alignment controls for the auger bore are established by installing the pilot tubes from the launch shaft to the exit shaft. The casing can then be coupled to the pilot tubes and bored into place with minimal risk of misalignment. This form of alignment control is critical on auger bores with tight line and grade tolerances. Pilot Tube boring is primarily deployed in earth consisting of sands, silts, and clays.
