Soil stabilization involves modifying the existing soils using various techniques. Permeation grouting is one form of stabilization where the soils are saturated with a grout that eventually solidify to provide a stable environment for construction. Fracture grouting and compaction grouting are also forms of stabilization applied prior to trenchless installation that mitigate ground loss and possible surface disruption.
