Getting Down To Where the Work Happens
Shafts are typically installed at the start and stop of trenchless installations. Shafts guarantee the workers a safe work area, below grade, where the work is taking place. Ground conditions, work room restrictions and known encumbrances are evaluated to arrive at the proper shaft selection. Typical shafts consist of trench box, slide rail, steel sheeting, liner plate, soldier beam and lagging.
